Maine IRP and IFTA is an online processing system allowing the State of Maine to manage the requirements of the International Registration Plan (IRP) and the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA). The IRP provides for the equitable and proportionate sharing of interstate truck registration fees based on the percentage of distance traveled in each state or province. IFTA provides uniform administration of motor fuels use taxation laws with respect to motor vehicles operated in multiple member jurisdictions.
